About the Author

Imam Muslim is one of the foremost preservers of ahadith of the Prophet. His book comes second only to Sahih al Bukhari in terms of authenticity according to majority of scholars. It is considered to be better than Sahih Bukhari in terms of organization and repetition according to some scholars of Islam. It is the second in the collection of 6 books called 'Sihah Sittah' or '6 most authentic books'. Imam Muslim took painstaking efforts in preserving the words/actions/sayings and approvals of the Prophet. He has mostly used 4-5 narrators in the chain of transmission although there are a couple of hadith containing 3 narrators. Imam Muslim was a very good student of Imam Bukhari and some of his Shuyukhs, although he did not narrate from Imam Bukhari too much, thus reducing the # of narrators.

As a Muslim must have Sahih Muslim

The publisher (Daarussalam) printed very good and much better than Tafsir Ibn Kathir (2003) and Sahih al-Bukhari (1997).
As a muslim we should do everything based on Al-Qur'an and As-Sunnah (Hadist). Sahih Muslim is one of the best compiled hadist after sahih al-bukhari. So, I strong recommend to every muslim must have it because we can learn by ourself rather than "we are doing TAQLID that mean follow the imam / syaikh and we do not know the original hadist). An excellant addition

If you're a fan of Stirling's Changeverse (AKA Emberverse)stories and of RPG gaming, this book is an excellent start to a campaign. For those new to RPGs, this gives a good start to the experience, while giving enough room for more experienced players to stretch their abilities.

The product description gives as much information as I could without spoilers.

If you haven't already read Stirling's series, or a least "Dies the Fire", the scenario may be slightly confusing, so I would recommend that it be read by at least the GM running this game.

About the Author
PROFESSOR PHILIP MOLYNEUX is Head of Bangor Business School, Professor in Banking and Finance and Director of the Institute of European Finance at Bangor University, UK. He previously held the Special Chair of Financial Services and Financial Conglomerates at Erasmus University, Rotterdam, Netherlands, and was Visiting Professor at Bocconi University, Milan, Italy. He has published a variety of texts on banking areas and acted as a consultant to New York Federal Reserve Bank, the World Bank, the European Commission, the UK Treasury, Citibank Private Bank, Bermuda Commercial Bank, McKinsey& co, Credit Suisse and various other international banks and consulting firms.

STEPHEN VALDEZ is a retired financial trainer and consultant and is the former Director of Profile Financial Training Plc. He formed Valdez Financial Training in 1985 to provide simple introductory courses on financial markets. Advanced but, helped a lot, but still reading

4 stars, Its a really good book for those that would like to get some real life examples (p.s. started with this edition), along with a better understanding of Global Financial Markets, to do with more of the recent events. "4th paragraph"

Though unfortunately this is too advanced for me, so hopefully the rest of you (readers) should have some kind of business dictionary, cause that slowed me down a lot.

The thing I really enjoyed (spoilers) is that it gives a history on certain topics, i.e. Chapter 2 Banking, it gives a brief history, giving readers an understanding of where it originated from. (those who didn't know, like yours truly) XD. Srry, anyway, it also includes their (S.V. & P.M.'s) own short summary (at the end of most chapters) along with questions to do with what you have just read (Exam Prep) which is somewhat helpful, though could probably use some work for future editions, if any.

Also for those who are just curious go for it, as reading this along with a few other things (not important), led me to, wanting to go into banking, money and finance.

El t�rmino vitaminas, pues, se lo debemos a �l, aunque se equivoc� al englobar a todas en este grupo, quiz� porque crey� que en cada una de ellas hab�a siempre un radical amina, deduciendo que estos elementos eran esenciales para la vida. M�s tarde se comprob� que pocos de estos compuestos eran aminas, pero se sigui� utilizando el nombre porque ya su difusi�n era universal. Hoy en d�a, hasta los m�dicos se refieren a las vitaminas como aquellos elementos presentes en los alimentos que deben ser ingeridos regularmente para conservar la salud, y en ocasiones, la vida. Pero �qu� ha ocurrido para que estos nutrientes b�sicos hayan sido apartados de las recetas m�dicas habituales? �C�mo han podido pasar de ser uno de los pilares de la salud, a ser los grandes ignorados por los m�dicos? Parad�jicamente, y aunque casi han desaparecido de las estanter�as de las farmacias y apenas si existen recetas otorgadas por los m�dicos, “las vitaminas” est�n ahora m�s alcance del p�blico que nunca; hasta los supermercados las ofrecen en atractivos envases y a precios econ�micos. La raz�n para esta aparente incongruencia m�dica es sencilla: si no sirven para casi nada �para qu� recetarlas? Y si son inocuas, deber�n estar junto a los alimentos de uso cotidiano. Por ello, a finales de la d�cada de los 70 apenas si hab�a alguien que diera importancia a estos nutrientes esenciales, y mucho menos a otros similares como los oligoelementos, las enzimas, los amino�cidos o los antioxidantes, sustancias todas condenadas al olvido en favor de los poderosos f�rmacos con los cuales aseguran poder curar cualquier enfermedad. Afortunadamente la medicina natural ha aprovechado este desinter�s “cient�fico”, y nuevos investigadores no ligados a intereses de los laboratorios especializados en la qu�mica, est�n sacando conclusiones esperanzadoras para el tratamiento de numerosas enfermedades mediante lo que se denomina como Medicina Ortomolecular.

Odd words, coming from a professor of history at Temple Univ., and a sign of the extreme oddity of the phenomenon, which Jacobs explores through extensive structural analysis. Each stage of a typical abduction, including the most sensational--the sexual encounters and reproductive experiments found in nearly all cases--are scrutinized through firsthand transcripts of hypnotic-regression interviews with more than 60 victims. The conclusion? That aliens are impregnating earth women in order to create quasi-human ``hybrids'' for some unknown purpose. This is THE abduction book to read.

There is no other book which so properly recounts reliable eyewitness testimony of this nature. Even Hopkins' "Intruders" doesn't quite reach this level. Mack's "Abduction" has too many new-age laced accounts. The conclusions and theories of Strieber's "Communion" *are* new-ageism, which he appears to now regret. This is the one to get if you wish to hear accounts of level-headed abductees who, I can guarantee, aren't going to turn around and say they made it all up, as happened in the case of Mack's.

Clear And Systematic Presentation

Dr. Jacobs' research was methodical, his reasoning is

uncluttered by any sort of cant or intellectual bias,

his presentation direct and concise. Studious without being

dull; quietly, thoughtfully provocative.

Cautious, credible, literate, readable: the best of the bunch

Most people who have studied the bizarre and improbable phenomenon of alien abduction say that if you only ever read one book on this subject, then it should be 'Secret Life.' Having just read SL for the third time in ten years, I concur.

Dr. David Jacobs is a recently-retired (in 2011) Professor of History at Temple University in Philadelphia where he ran courses on 20th century American history. As a tenured academic historian, he's trained in the gathering and rigorous analysis of data to form cautious but credible hypotheses about historical events. His first book 'The UFO Controversy in America' (pub. 1975) was his doctoral thesis slightly extended for mass publication, a classic if conservative examination of the evidence for the reality of UFOs and the official political/military response to the phenomenon in the USA, described by the late Arthur C Clarke as "...one of the few books ever published on the subject which is worth reading".

In 'Secret Life' Dr. Jacobs brings his considerable academic and forensic skills as a historian to the alien abduction phenomenon. His conclusions as described here were formed after five years' continuous investigation and work with about 150 people who had suffered the experience. Most want complete anonymity and are anything but happy about what happened to them. The title precisely sums up in two words what these people have to deal with: a secret life they can't or have no wish to discuss in public.

The resulting book is a meticulously documented, startling and convincing hypothesis about the reality of the alien abduction phenomenon which Dr. Jacobs came to with some reluctance. He describes the reported process of abduction, the idiosyncratic details repeated through many abductee accounts and the impersonal and work-like attitudes of the abductors. One factor new to me when I first read this book was the common intergenerational aspect of the abductions and that the children of abductees are invariably abducted, as are their children and so on. The abductors seem primarily interested in the human muscular-skeleton system, the brain and neurology of abductees, and most of all in harvesting human genetic material for the production of `hybrid' offspring. They express no interest in human society or cultural, artistic & political life. The program is secretive and global in scale; the technology deployed well in advance of any available to us, but not completely infallible and occasional mistakes are made (like returning people to the outside of locked houses, or wearing their clothes inside out, or in some cases to their automobiles driving on the wrong carriageway against oncoming traffic).

This was truly ground-breaking stuff in the early 1990s and remains essential reading to anyone who wants to understand the issue uncontaminated either by woolly-headed new-age fantasies ("they're here to help us/save the planetary environment/stop war") or ideologically driven debunkerism ("they can't get here from there/it's all sleep paralysis/repressed child abuse" etc). Dr. Jacobs by contrast knows his subject thoroughly and sticks to the facts, however uncomfortable they might be. He began as an out-and-out skeptic - as well he might - and ended reluctantly convinced that Something Really Is Going On.

As you might expect from a University Professor of some academic standing, the book is written in a highly literate style with a coherent and logical narrative. It's a surprisingly easy and engrossing read, due to the straightforward description of the subject by an author who understands what he is talking about and uses plenty of evidence to back it up. The approach is as logical, grounded and cautious as are the conclusions shocking and revolutionary.

Dr. Jacobs has frequently invited anyone to please refute his data, as he would prefer the conclusions he has been reluctantly led to, to be proven not true. So far, no-one has.

Challenge: read the book with an open mind then try to refute the data. But you'll need to study the subject matter in depth and do the work for real, as has the author. Armchair cynicism is not going to cut it, and is certainly not going to stop thousands of otherwise normal, often highly functional citizens all over the world continuing to report this phenomenon happening to them and forced to live a 'secret life'.

I really enjoyed reading this book

I really enjoyed reading this book. The author's personality comes through in the writing. The cultural tips would have been very helpful to have known before I traveled in France a few years ago. It's obvious that M. Bibard loves his country, and is eager for others to love it as well. He made me wish I could book a plane ticket to France tonight!

Some worthy content but full of spelling errors and other typos. Also, some cultural advice given is either poor stereotype of out-of-date. I ditched this book half-way through my vacation in France, it was not worth carrying around...

Excellent Guide

An excellent composition for those aspiring to travel to a French based country and needs assistance in picking up the language or to brush up their knowledge. I found it to be very clear and easy to read, the writer accommodates those on all levels whether beginner to expert with his conversational approach. Allowing one to catch on fast. There were some instances that I found myself chuckling at his humor as he’d explain how simple learning the pronunciations and grammar is for a “newbie”. He’s thorough in presenting phrases for all possible circumstances and I’m confident that this book will come in handy for the roaming traveler. Also it comes with an audio feature which is great for further assistance. You’ll find that each English phrase has a French translation and pronunciation guide, so the added assistance is welcomed.
