A Practical, Readable Guide

Marsha Woodard's book is the natural product of her years of personal experience, going herself as a Christian missionary and working extensively to counsel, train, and prepare others to go. She starts at the obvious - but often overlooked - beginning: what does the Bible say about missions? She develops a logical step-by-step process to verify, clarify, and hone one's vision and direction, then moves on to practical and proactive stages of preparation. Sprinkled throughout with anecdotes from the author's missions career, this book is very readable, saying enough without saying too much. The checklists and worksheets in the appendices are, in themselves, worth the price of the book.

Great book - lots of practical advice

This is an excellent book intented for people going into Christian missions, particularly in other countries and cultures. There is practical advice and check lists of things to do or to think about in each chapter. It covers aspects such as pre-missions planning, how to avoid making cultural mistakes, and many other topics.
Highly recommended.
